TOKAYA - OBI
I was thinking about how to draw you into the dream I had last night.
Tokaia is a way of speaking sideways about a fleeting dream—one that's hard to catch with just a glance. You have to come closer, slowly, heart to heart, to hear the fluttering beat of a restless heart, like a hummingbird’s.
In the film Tokaia, Obi introduces Savio Drew on a search for sunlit encantus in the largest urban sprawl of Brazil—São Paulo,
the “land of good intentions” and of many other stories.
It’s a light-footed chase, because everything in this so-called new world feels so urgent. And still, we believe in the power of hummingbirds chasing after sweetness.
Tell me—do you have time?
In this dream, I hear a little bird sing,
and I wanted to tell you I saw it for the first time yesterday.
But do you have time?
They say life out there moves a mile a minute.
P&C - We will live

We fight. We yell. We are going to live.
In the middle of a grave economic crisis, Brazil just made its way out of the most polarizing election in its history, and on a global stage, nonetheless. Facing a far-rght government, the fears go further with the rise in acts of violence against minorities, targeted by the hate-filled speech of the president. The song and its clip aim to give strength and helpto all people who are scared or suffering intolerance, prejudice, and acts of violence.
